Volkswagen AG (Xetra: VW), a Germany-based automaker, wants Germany-based Porsche AG (Xetra: POR3) (FWB: POR3) to develop future Bentley platforms, according to a new report.
Autocar has reported that all future Bentley models will ride on platforms designed and engineered by Porsche. Volkswagen AG is presently developing its first project for the collaboration, a platform derived from the Panamera, called the MSB.
The MSB platform will accommodate both rear- and all-wheel drive set-ups. The platform is likely to use a combination of steel and aluminium. The automaker is also planning to launch a new turbocharged V8 engine.
