Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE: TM) (LSE: TYT) (TYO: 7203), a Japan-based automaker, is decreasing the production of some Lexus models that are to be sold in China.
The automaker is taking this step as protests and acts of vandalism there continue against all things Japanese. It is decreasing production of the Lexus brand by around a fifth by as early as this month.
Just Auto has reported that the company is decreasing production at Kyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture to around 1,000 a day from its current capacity of 1,300 for an unspecified amount of time. The models that will be affected include the Camry-based ES sedan and CT 200h hybrid hatchback.
