How To Become An Expert In Your Niche
There’s a lot of debate in the writing world about what actually constitutes “being a writer”. This argument has been around for as long as writers have existed. Some will tell you that you simply need to write. To these people, the act of writing on a regular basis makes you a writer, in the same way that painting makes you a painter. Others will take it a bit further: they might tell you that you can’t be considered a writer until you’ve been published or until you have readers.
Create a journal to keep track of your progress. Write questions and answer them from your readings. You’ll look back on this effort later to chart your evolution.
Using too many different fonts. Choosing more than two fonts on a book cover can make your book look busy and confusing. Actually, I learned this lesson early. Because whenever I used too many fonts, the design would just look WRONG to me. Maybe, you can see that intuitively too. When you are developing your skill, stay with the rules. Use a combination of serif, fonts with the little feet on the letters, and sans serif, straight up and down fonts. For example, Goudy Old Style and Garamond are serif type fonts. Impact and Helvetica are sans serif fonts.
Help people apply what they learned. Here is the bottom line. I read a book, and hopefully enjoyed it. Then I went to a book club meeting and talked about the book. So what? What can I do differently or better because of what I learned? Make sure that this is always a part of the group conversation.
While writing my book I unplugged from the world. I set self-imposed deadlines and focused exclusively on my goal. This was effective in allowing me to finish the project but it cut me off from a lot of help I did not even know was available.
Experience or knowledge about your business. While a good writer may be able to write about anything, you’ll get better articles from a writer that is familiar with your business’ niche.
With that mission embedded upon my heart, I embarked upon my endeavor as a writer with a solid foundation, and it has proved to keep me grounded and focused.
Describing your experience using memorable incidents is a great choice. You can talk about your experience about reading the book while sipping a great cup of coffee or sitting in the lawn amongst beautiful flowers or under a banyan tree. Referring to these types of incidents is often helpful.
Niches like ‘computer games’ or ‘home entertainment’ are perfect. It won’t take you a lifetime to become an essay writing service in either field, and there are plenty of prospective clients to choose from.
Chatting. This one I especially find irritating. One day I was on Facebook, and an author, whom I didn’t know and who had already sent me three messages trying to tell me how great his book was and to let me know I could get it on Kindle for just $2.99, sent me a chat message about his book. If I don’t reply to your message, I sure don’t want to chat with you. I politely ignored him and logged off Facebook rather than tell him to quit harassing me. I wasn’t going to engage in an argument with him. But let’s be clear-I’m on Facebook to chat with my real friends. Not to read your book.
