Porsche and VW finalise integration

German automakers Porsche and Volkswagen have finalised their planned integration.

The two firms were integrated via the Integrated Automotive Group on August 1. Despite the integration, Volkswagen insists that Porsche models will retain their own unique brand identity.

Dr Martin Winterkorn, chairman of Volkswagens board of management, said, ‘The unique Porsche brand will continue to develop successfully under Volkswagen’s multibrand strategy and proven decentralised management structure. Porsche will retain its own identity and operational independence, just like all of the other Group brands.’
