Mini, a subsidiary of BMW AG (Xetra: VW), has launched its production Paceman at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
The vehicle features a sloping roofline and a rear end inspired by the Paceman Concept vehicle previously unveiled in Detroit. It comes in slightly (44lbs) lighter than the existing Countryman due to being 1.6 inches shorter and 0.4 inches lower. It is available with a choice of a 1.6 litre petrol engine that delivers either 122bhp or 184bhp, a 1.6 litre diesel engine that produces 112bhp, and a 2.0 litre engine that generates 143bhp.
The MINI Center Rail system, which debuted in the Countryman, makes a comeback here, meaning the model will be strictly a four-seater.
The model is to arrive at European dealerships on March 16, 2013, priced from £18,970.
