Mercedes plans to develop new GLK-Class crossover

Mercedes Benz, a subsidiary of Daimler AG (NYSE: DAI) (FWB: DAI), is planning to develop its new GLK-Class crossover.

The vehicle features sleeker lines that are intended to help it better compete with rivals such as the Range Rover Evoque. It is to be offered with the new Mercedes rear wheel architecture, and will be available with a choice of a turbocharged four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines.

The automaker has not revealed the official name of the GLK coupe, although the automaker is reportedly referring to the vehicle internally as the GLC.
