Mercedes-Benz, a subsidiary of Daimler AG (NYSE: DAI) (FWB: DAI), is equipping its C63 AMG with a 4.0-litre V8 engine, Autocar has reported.
The engine is derived from the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder unit that is earmarked for the A45 AMG and CLA45 AMG. It is known within the company as the M177.
The forced induction, eight-cylinder engine delivers between 460bhp and 500bhp. It will be used in the replacement for the SLS AMG.
