Maserati, an Italy-based automaker, is naming its baby Quattroporte, and BMW 5-Series rival, the Ghibli.

The vehicle is to be unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. It is codenamed M157 internally and will reportedly ride on the same platform that underpins the Chrysler 300 sedan. It is to arrive at European and United States dealerships in late 2013 and early 2014.

The model is equipped with a version of Chrysler’s 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine that delivers around 400bhp, a diesel V6, and a performance-minded V8 engine.
