General Motors Corporation (NYSE: GM), a United States-based automaker, is recalling a total of 2,949 Buick Verano, Chevrolet Cruze and Chevrolet Sonic models.
The recalled models are from the 2012 model year.
The automaker is recalling the vehicles because of a problem with their air bags. According to a NHTSA investigation, the side frontal air bag in these vehicles has a shorting bar that could come in to contact with the air bag terminals. If this occurs during a crash, the driver’s side air bag would not deploy, increasing the likelihood of injury.
