Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F), a United States-based automaker, is planning to cut several hundred jobs in Europe.

The automaker is taking this step because of a decrease in demand, which led to the company reporting a drop of almost 30% for its European sales in August.

The company stated that it will provide voluntary buyouts for staff and cut jobs for agency workers and purchased service. The decision is likely to affect Ford’s UK plants at Halewood, Southampton and Dagenham, with other plants across Europe also affected.
