Ford calls Belgian union leaders to emergency meeting

Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F), a United States-based automaker has called union leaders at its Genk, Belgium, plant to an emergency meeting on October 24, prompting fears that the company is likely to close the plant.

There have been rumours regarding the closure of the plant for some months, but the emergency meeting indicates that the facility is likely to be closed.

The plant employs around 4,300 workers and produces the Mondeo midsize sedan, S-Max and Galaxy MPVs.
