BMW AG (Xetra: BMW), a Germany-based automaker, is equipping its vehicles with an accessory to provide WiFi at LTE data speeds.
The LTE adapter snaps into any BMW equipped with a phone cradle dock in its console, enabling passengers to connect their personal electronic devices, such as phones and tablets, to the WiFi hotspot and receive data at LTE speeds.
The adapter has an eight-digit connection code, preventing other drivers from tailgating in order to feed off the hotspot while on the road.
