German car manufacturer, Audi, a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, has unveiled its new S3 Sportback model.
Scheduled for its first full public viewing at next month’s Geneva motor show, the S3 Sportback is a hatchback with a four-cylinder, 2.0-litre TFSI engine that provides 300bhp at 5,500rpm. The engine is claimed to gain improved efficiency from the dual injection Audi valvelift system, and better thermal management from an exhaust manifold mounted inside the cylinder head.
The car comes with optional six-speed S tronic or standard six-speed manual transmissions, and is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in five seconds. Other features include S sport suspension, Audi drive select, optional Audi magnetic ride system, and Electronic Stabilisation Control (ESC).
First deliveries of the model are expected in September.
