Audi AG, a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG (Xetra: VW), is planning to launch a diesel-hybrid supercar to be positioned above the R8, a new report indicates.
The vehicle will be tentatively named the R10, and will borrow much of its technology from Audi’s Le Mans-winning R18 e-tron racecar. The engine delivers around 700bhp and 740lb-ft. of torque and accelerates from zero to 62mph in around three seconds, reacheing a top speed of more than 200mph.
The model is to ride on the new MSB platform that will underpin the next generation R8.
