Audi AG, a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG (Xetra: VW), is planning to develop a sporty seven-seat MPV for 2016.
The vehicle is based on the larger version of the Volkswagen Group’s modular MQB architecture.
According to sales and marketing chief, Peter Schwarzenbauer, the new car will be available with six or seven seats and will be similar to the Ford S-Max. The vehicle will be available with EA888 range of 1.8-litre and 2.0-litre TFSI engines, providing 180bhp and 222bhp respectively, and diesels from the EA288 range, including a 2.0 TDI that produces either 141bhp or 175bhp.
