Acura, a subsidiary of Honda Motor Company (NYSE: HMC) (TYO: 7267), is developing a small two-seater sports car to be positioned below the new NSX, according to a new report.
The new model will be bigger, heavier and better-equipped than Honda’s now out-of-production S2000 roadster. It is expected to be launched in 2016, and will be priced between $50,000 and $60,000.
Motor Trend has reported that the vehicle’s design will be heavily inspired by the NSX. Both models are being developed at Honda of America’s Research & Development Centre in Liberty, Ohio, and are aimed at the United States market.
