Volkswagen AG (Xetra: VW), a Germany-based automaker, is launching its R-badge rally version of the Polo hatchback at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show scheduled for March next year.
The range-topping Polo R is to borrow its turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine from its sixth-generation GTI. It accelerates from zero to 62mph in just over six seconds, and reaches a top speed of around 150mph.
The vehicle is to arrive at European dealerships in the summer of 2013 as a limited edition model.
