Mercedes-Benz, a subsidiary of Daimler AG (NYSE: DAI), is unveiling its new B-Class Electric Drive hatchback at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
The vehicle is to arrive at United States dealerships in 2014. AutoCar has reported that it is likely to be offered on an extended monthly lease plan rather than be sold to purchase outright.
The model is equipped with a brushless motor that will occupy the same space as the B-Class’ regular petrol or electric motors, and that delivers 134bhp and 228lb-ft of torque. It is to be equipped with a lithium-ion battery pack mounted low in the chassis.
