Mercedes-Benz, a subsidiary of Daimler AG (NYSE: DAI)(FWB: DAI), is increasing the new C-Class range to include convertible, diesel and hybrid variants.
The automaker is taking this step to compete with BMW (Xetra: BWM). The model will initially be launched as a sedan, but coupe and convertible models will join the range in 2015 and diesel and hybrid engines, along with an all-wheel drive option, will be launched in 2015.
The new C-Class will be manufactured at the company’s Tuscaloosa, Alabama, factory and will arrive at United States dealerships in August 2014.
