Alfa Romeo, a subsidiary of Fiat SpA (NYSE: FIA)(ISE: IT0001976403), is launching its 4C sports car at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, scheduled for March.

The vehicle is inspired by the 8C and is identical to the concept vehicle that was launched at the Geneva Motor Show two years ago. It is around 157 inches long, 46 inches high and 78 inches wide, and is bigger all around than a Lotus Elise. It will be produced in Maserati’s Modena, Italy, plant. Carscoop has reported, citing a Swiss Alfa dealer, that the automaker is planning to produce 1,000 units of the 4C coupe and 1,000 units of the 4C roadster.

The model is equipped with a turbocharged, four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1750 cubic centimetres, delivering around 240bhp.
