Audi AG, a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG (Xetra: VW), is likely to equip its A8 sedan with an autonomous driving system in 2016, Leftlane News has reported.
If the report proves to be true, the model will be the first self-driving car on the market.
The system is being produced jointly with Germany-based Ibeo Automotive Systems and French component builder, Valeo. It will use a range of lasers, cameras and sensors to monitor the road ahead and automatically move the car along in dense traffic.
