Vauxhall, a subsidiary of General Motors Corporation (NYSE:GM), is equipping its Zafira Tourer with a new 1.6-litre MDE diesel engine.
The engine provides a 10 percent improvement in fuel consumption over the current 1.7-litre diesel engine. It produces 134bhp and 320Nm of torque.
Vauxhall’s engineering teams in Turin, Ruesselsheim and the USA designed the engine in-house. It will be produced at the same Szentgotthard plant in Hungary as the firm’s new MGE petrol engine, which debuts in the Vauxhall Cascada.
