Audi AG, a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG (Xetra: VW), is developing a track-focused version of its next-generation TT sports car.
Autocar has reported, citing Audi boss, Wolfgang Durheimer, that the TT project is a ‘multi-material’ version of the new TT, the so-called TT GT3, and will rely on a mixture of steel, aluminium and carbon fibre to achieve a curb weight of just 2,200 pounds.
The vehicle is to ride on the automaker’s MQB architecture. It is equipped with a five-cylinder engine, coupled with Audi’s signature Quattro all-wheel drive system.
